Come and stay at Fleur de Lys, Chambre d'hote/ B/B situated in one of the oldest streets in Dinan just 10 minutes walk to the old town centre.
You will receive the warmest of greetings from your hosts Dave and Ruth Ellis and enjoy your stay in light and airy en suite rooms.
Breakfasts are served in a spacious breakfast room which can also be available to guests as a day room.
Alternatively, relax in the sunny garden, perhaps watch Ruth throwing and glazing a pot in her workshop.
Your stay in Dinan will take you back to the 1500s with its colourful cobbled streets of wood framed medieval houses.
Peek around corners to find such unruined splendours as the Castle, Keep and Horloge (Clock Tower), plus the best of 21st Century French cuisine: not forgetting the fabulous traditional market each Thursday morning.
Victor Hugo likened Dinan to a swallows nest because it perches high above the River Rance with pleasure boats and canoes for hire and riverside cafes for the less energetic.
Also offering Breton specialties such as cider, kir, wines, galettes and crepes with sumptuous fillings!
Walk off any excess by taking a 2km wander around the medieval ramparts, which are the oldest and most intact in Brittany or take the bus back to the house as it stops outside!.
The local area is one of the prettiest in France with plenty of attractions for all ages.
Besides car travel, it is easy to get about, by train from Dinans pretty Art Deco station with its Railway Museum, by local bus or by motor cruise from the old port.
Only 25 minutes by car will take you to the sea where you can find a different beach for each day of your stay, including St Malo.
If you're partial to oysters, a little further on is Cancale the Oyster Capital of Europe, they say!!!
The opposite direction finds Cap Frehel, Isle de Brehat, Wild and Pink Granite Coasts.
Dave and Ruth are both keen cyclists and birdwatchers so they can pass on to you their local knowledge and expertise.
They can also offer tried and tested information on all aspects of relocating to France
